Pressure Relief Of Vapor Solid System
Depends on the solid content, which you need to quantify.
I would only qualify it as a fatal error if by oversight a pilot operated safety valve is selected. POSV's are a strict no-no for applications where solids may be carried along with the relief fluid.
You can contact safety valve vendors such as "Farris" and others and seek their opinion for using conventional or bellows sealed safety valves. However, be prepared to tell them what type and quantity of solids can be carried over in the relief stream and also the discharge connections of the relief device.
Rupture disks may also fail (leak ) due to the scouring/erosive action of solids on the disk material.
So, you need to have definite answers about the solids content (quantitative and qualitative) in the fluid stream of the molecular sieve tower.
